Wizards have shown up in folklore, fantasy and even mythological history throughout time. The basic principle that drives a wizard and the purpose of his apparent world wide recognition is a direct factor in his ability to use a legendary force known as magic.

It is thought that a wizards ability in magic is dependent on a combination of his knowledge and the amount of 'mana' that he can draw from the area around him. Mana is the driving mysterious force that fuels his abilities. Throughout history and fantasy lore wizards have been capable of doing everything from hurling fireballs to polymorphism and even mind control. In more specific fantasy lore a wizards ability to use magic is also limited by an invisible force that is inate in all humans. It has no name but can be thought of as physical stamina for the mind. Much like how muscles act, the mind can only do so much before the ability to use it is exhausted. With practise and exercise muscles get larger as well as stamina and indurance....this is just one of the few explantions of how wizards are capable of using magic.

The mirror you see above is all of this lore captured in one amazing scene and frozen in a timeless masterpiece. The name of the wizard above is unknown and his power is evident based on the sceene depicted. This particular wizard is capable of controlling the minds of two dragons, creatures who are thought to be impervious to magic. The bond he has created through magic is rumored to have enabled him to control the creatures even after his power is exhausted. He now takes the two dragons wherever he goes and they are his loyal (not to mention deadly) pets.

A magical wizard holds fiery beasts at bay on this dramatic and vivid alabastrite mirror frame.
